Water System Expansion to Batesburg-Leesville

The Water System Expansion to Batesburg-Leesville is a collaborative initiative between Joint Municipal Water and Sewer Commission and the Town of Batesburg-Leesville with a focus on enhancing infrastructure in western Lexington County. A new water supply is being extended to the Batesburg-Leesville area. This project is a regional effort to support economic development, address health, environmental, and quality of life concerns.

Old Field Elevated Water Storage Tank

Installation of 1 MG composite elevated tank with all necessary appurtenances & connections. The tank is designed to meet peak hourly and fire demands.

Status Update: Water tank is online and running for the town of Batesburg Leesville. All electrical and structural work have been completed on this project. The only items that are left to be completed on this project are the landscaping around the fencing, and the man door of the tank to be painted, and potential other small punch list items. That will happen in the next 2-3 weeks with the cooperation of the weather.

Transmission Main to Batesburg-Leesville and Calks Ferry Road Booster Pump Station

Extension of approximately 40,000 LF of 24” water main along Hwy 1 from the Commission’s existing Hwy 1 Tank, a 2,500 GPM booster pump station will be constructed , along with 23 fire hydrants, and necessary appurtenances & connections. This project allows the Commission to meet existing water demands and for anticipated 20 year water supply needs for this area.

Status Update: Over the past few weeks, DS Utilities has been working along Augusta Hwy completing project punch list items. These items consist of patching asphalt driveways, concrete driveways, and erosion control. With this project coming to an end in the next few weeks, DS Utilities will continue to patch driveways and ensure appropriate erosion control measures are in place along Augusta Hwy as we enter the final stage of this project.
